Curriculum Website Creation

Why do you Need a Curriculum Website?

In Missouri, Senate Bill 158 (SB 158) outlines specific requirements for public school districts regarding curriculum transparency and parental rights.

According to SB 158, school districts must adopt policies that promote parental involvement, including procedures for parents to object to instructional materials and to withdraw their children from certain health education courses. The bill prohibits the use of nondisclosure agreements for parents reviewing curricula and allows parents to make copies of curriculum documents. Additionally, each school board meeting related to curricula must be open to the public and allow for public comment.

Furthermore, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is required to develop a tool within its comprehensive data system to provide access to every school district's curriculum and professional development materials. School districts are mandated to submit updates to any required information every six months, and DESE must update the tool monthly.

These provisions aim to enhance transparency and ensure that parents and the public have access to information regarding the curricula used in Missouri's public schools.

Compliance with Transparency & Accessibility Laws

  • We understand legal requirements like ADA compliance (for accessibility) and state mandates (like Missouri’s SB 158). We will ensure the website meets these standards, avoiding potential legal issues.

Time & Resource Savings

  • Your district staff can focus on education rather than technical issues. A developer handles the setup, updates, and maintenance, freeing educators to concentrate on teaching.

How it works

Your curriculum website will take between 2-3 weeks to develop. Once done, a video walkthrough will be sent to review the website. A link will be shared to add to your district website.

STEP 3: 4 Week Follow Up

4 weeks after the website is deployed, an optional meeting can be set up to review any changes needed.

STEP 4: Monthly Updates (Optional)

If you choose the monthly updates option, once a month, email our web developer to make any changes needed.
