Mary Paradise - Contributor
Mary Paradise is a dedicated science educator from Kansas City, Missouri, with over eight years of teaching experience. She has spent seven of those years shaping young minds at Kansas City charter schools, where she has taught 6th and 7th-grade science, as well as a variety of high school science classes, including AP Chemistry and Project Lead the Way PBS/HBS courses. Mary is well-versed in social-emotional learning (SEL) curricula and is a strong advocate for teaching the whole child, believing that education should address both academic and personal growth.
Mary holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Master’s in Teaching from Avila University. Her professional journey is marked by her collaborations with esteemed organizations such as KC STEM Alliance, PrepKC, and the Stowers Research Institute, among others.
Mary is passionate about integrating college and career development into her high school courses, inspiring students to see the real-world applications of their studies. She is eager to continue her work with local STEM groups, aiming to empower young people to utilize their talents for the betterment of their communities.
